Terms of use

These terms cover use of the FakeLife app and website.

What FakeLife provides

FakeLife examines media and supported public posts. It summarizes observable presentation cues and, where accessible sources allow, compares specific claims with those sources. Reports can be incomplete when a post, media item, or source is unavailable. Scores describe sampled public content and are not a factual verdict about a person.

Your content and conduct

You are responsible for the material you submit and for having the right to upload it. Do not use FakeLife to harass people, expose private information, violate another person's rights, or submit unlawful content. Do not try to bypass rate limits, payment controls, or technical protections.

Uploaded files are stored in a bucket with a public read domain. Anyone who obtains an exact object URL can view the file. Review the privacy policy before submitting sensitive material.

Checks, credits, and subscriptions

A completed check normally uses one available check credit, including a check with up to five media items or one supported public post or profile. A failed processing attempt restores the reserved credit. Weekly and monthly subscription checks renew with the subscription and do not roll over. One-time credits remain until used. The app shows the price and purchase terms supplied by your store before purchase.

Manage cancellation, billing, and refund requests through the App Store or Google Play account used for the purchase. Deleting a FakeLife account does not automatically cancel an active store subscription.

Reports and availability

Use a report as one source of context and open its cited sources before drawing conclusions. Image reuse does not prove who created an image or whether a post is misleading. We may change or interrupt features when providers, public pages, or the service are unavailable.
