Privacy policy

This page explains the information FakeLife uses to run checks and maintain your account.

Effective 9 October 2026

Information you provide

When you sign in, we use your email address to send a short-lived sign-in code and connect your purchases and reports to your account. You may submit photos, videos, screenshots, public post or profile links, and questions about the content. We store your checks, reports, available credits, and purchase identifiers so you can return to them.

FakeLife also processes basic technical information needed for security and reliability, such as request timestamps, error details, and limited request information used to rate-limit sign-in codes.

How a check works

We use submitted media and public links to examine observable presentation cues, find accessible public source pages, and assess specific claims where evidence allows. Depending on the check, information may be processed by Cloudflare R2 for storage, Monid for public social-post or image-search data, Brave Search for public web results, and OpenRouter for model-based analysis. Purchase status is handled through the App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat. Email codes are delivered through Zoho.

We use results to create your report, operate purchases and credits, handle support, prevent misuse, and diagnose service failures. A report is based on the sampled content and available sources; it does not establish facts about anyone's private life.

Public media URLs: uploaded files and screenshots are stored in an R2 bucket with a public custom domain. Anyone who has an exact object URL can open that object. The bucket does not provide a public object listing, but the URL itself is sufficient to view a file. Avoid uploading material you do not want accessible through a shared URL.

Storage and retention

We keep your account, checks, reports, and associated media while your account and those reports remain in the service. Deleting a report removes its stored media and report record. Deleting an account removes its account data and associated stored reports and media. Temporary sign-in codes expire after ten minutes, and temporary reverse-image search files are deleted after the lookup finishes. Operational and purchase records may need to be kept where required to resolve transactions, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

Deleting an R2 object stops it being served from our bucket. It cannot remove copies another person may already have downloaded or shared.

Your choices

You can delete individual reports and your account in the app. For instructions or questions about your data, visit Delete account or email [email protected]. You can manage or cancel a subscription through the store where you purchased it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
